The Lakeside School District is accepting applications to hire an Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Support Services.
Position Overview:
The Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Student Support Services provides district-wide leadership for curriculum development, instructional improvement, and integrated student support systems. This role ensures academic excellence, compliance, and fiscal responsibility while supporting the whole child.
The successful candidate must possess strong people skills and consistently demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and respectful communication while working with staff, families, students, community partners, and governing bodies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of district curriculum and instructional programs aligned to state standards.
Oversee special education and Section 504 programs to ensure compliance and equitable access to services.
Coordinate supports for military-connected students and families.
Manage curriculum-related budgets and categorical funding with transparency and fiscal responsibility.
Oversee ARMAC and other risk management or compliance functions related to instructional operations.
Collaborate with principals and district leaders to improve instructional practices and student outcomes.
Participate in the School Health Index Committee to support student wellness and safe learning environments.
Provide clear, professional communication and guidance to the Superintendent, Board, and stakeholders.
Build and maintain positive, professional relationships across departments and the community.
Coordinates development and enactment of district strategic plan.
Evaluates the operation of the schools and make recommendations to the Superintendent for changes in policy and programming as necessary.
Leads data-informed decision-making in collaboration with district building administrators to constantly evaluate and improve instruction, teacher training, curriculum implementation, assessments, and other aspects of schools' academic programs and culture.
Assist District Test Coordinator with the administration of all State, interim and summative assessments in alignment with State standards and code.
Develops, in collaboration with district and school-based administrators, new courses and programs.
Fulfills all statutory obligations and implements the education law of the State of Arkansas and the administrative code of the Arkansas Department of Education as it relates to Standards of Accreditation.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree or higher in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education, or a related field.
Valid Arkansas Administrative Licensure
District-level leadership experience in curriculum, special programs, and fiscal management.
Experience working with diverse student populations, including students with disabilities and military-connected families.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in administration/supervision.
