Regular Meeting
April 10, 2023

The meeting was called to order by the president.  The following members were present:  Rev. Green, Mr. Lane, Mr. Livingston, Mrs. Smith, Ms. Sykes, Mrs. Thompson and Mr. Williams.

The March 13, 2023 minutes and financial reports were approved as presented.

Mrs. Jennifer Armstrong’s students did a power point presentation on their learning opportunities and experiences while attending Tulane University for two weeks during the summer of 2022.  The project was sponsored by Gearup.

The proposed 2023-2024 certified salary schedule was submitted to the PPC prior to board approval.  

A motion was made by Mr. Livingston and seconded by Williams to adopt the proposed certified salary schedule for the 2023-2024 school year.  The motion carried.

A motion was made by Mr. Livingston and seconded by Mrs. Smith to approve Roger Gorman’s bid to install 613 sq., ft., of window security film in front of the elementary, middle and high school windows ($5394.40) and install mirror film to 30 large classroom windows 26 windows at Lakeside High School and 4 windows at Eudora Elementary for a total of $7828 plus tax.  Top Rail Fence and Concrete bid $19,932.48 to install 909’ of safety fence to protect students on the elementary playground and American Building Specialties bid $17,390.00 plus tax for 150 new safety locks for Eudora Elementary, Lakeside Elementary and Middle, 35 safety locks for high school, 15 new cylinder for outside doors and 150 door holders for all buildings.  The district will use the approved (DESE) school safety grant to pay for the above services and items.  The motion carried.

The superintendent discussed the 2022 Legislative Audit and supplemental findings, SHARE Project Interest, Every Child Arkansas (foster parents), counseling support for disaster victims and School Recognition/Reward Law 6-15-2107.

The president requested that the board go into executive session for the purpose of employment, appointment, promotion, discipline or resignation of personnel.  After the discussion, the public was allowed to return.  A motion was made by Mr. Livingston and seconded by Ms. Sykes to accept the resignation of Steve Hitt (Middle School PE/Football Coach (2022-23 School Year), Tracy Yarbrough (Pre-K Teacher), John Dirsschl (Elementary Teacher), Marion Polk (K-5 Music), Jase Woods (Elementary Teacher) and rehire Charles Brady as interim Principal for Lakeside High School for 2023-24 School Year.  The motion carried.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:34 P.M.
