The meeting was called to order by the president. The following members were present: Rev. Green, Ms. Griffin, Mr. Livingston, Rev. McJoy, Mr. Mosley, Mrs. Thompson and Mr. Williams.
The minutes and financial reports for November 8, 2021 were approved as presented.
The superintendent, discussed purchasing three 2019 used school buses the district leased from Midwest Bus Leasing in 2018 for a price between $68,000 and $70,000 with the company making all necessary repairs and recalls before the purchase. A motion was made by Ms. Griffin and seconded by Mr. Williams to allow the superintendent to negotiate the price to purchase the lease buses from Midwest Bus Leasing, LLC. The motion carried.
A motion was made by Mr. Mosley and seconded by Ms. Griffin to allow the Lakeside Robotics Team to attend the World Robotics Competition in Council Bluff, Iowa (April 2nd to April 7 th ). The motion carried.
The superintendent, discussed school resource officer roles and responsibilities (Acts 551 and 622 of 2021), Garrett PD 6500I walk-through metal detector, upgrade of playgrounds, upgrade high school bleachers, Lakeside Middle School cafeteria dining addition, ASBA Delegate report (Ms. Griffin) the NSBA Conference and School Board Members State of Financial interest (Due January 31, 2022).
The president requested that the board go into executive session for the purpose of employment, appointment, promotion, discipline or resignation of personnel. After the discussion, the public was allowed to return. A motion was made by Mr. Livingston and seconded by Ms. Griffin to approve the contract of Dontai Brown (middle school Health and Physical Education Assistant girls’ basketball coach and accept the resignation of Darell Cortez (Elementary Teacher) and Jay-Ar Catempo (Elementary Teacher). The motion carried.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:20 P.M.
