5:30 P.M.

The meeting was called to order by the president. The following members were present: Mrs. Green, Mr. Livingston, Mr. McJoy, Mr. Mosley and Mr. Williams. Mr. Collins and Ms. Griffin were absent.

The September 8, 2014, board minutes were approved as presented.

The superintendent gave the attendance report and Ms. Estelle discussed the financial report.

The board reorganized. A motion was made by Mrs. Green and seconded by Mr. Mosley for each board of directors keep their present positions. The motion carried.

Mr. Ray Brooks, Band Director presented a proposal for the Lakeside High band to participate in the Martin Luther King=s Parade in Houston, TX on January 17-19, 2015. A motion was made by Mrs. Green and seconded by Mr. Mosley to allow the Lakeside High School band to travel to Houston, TX to participate in the Martin Luther King Annual Parade. The motion carried.

Mrs. Jennifer Armstrong, GT Teacher presented a proposal to the board to allow the middle school GT students to take an educational tour to New York from May 28, 2015 to June 1, 2015. A motion was made by Mrs. Green and seconded by Mr. Livingston to allow the GT students to take an educational tour to New York from May 28, 2015 to June 1, 2015. The motion carried.

The superintendent gave an update on upcoming events: Gospel Fest (October 18, 2014) and ASBA Regional 14 Training (Oct.28, 2014).

The assistant superintendent and principals gave an annual report to the public. The following topics were discussed. Title I, Schoolwide Program, School Performance Report Data, AMO=s Corrective Action Plans, ACT, Schoolwide Parent involvement activities, integrating technology in the classrooms, PARCC Assessments, how federal and special needs funds are used, HQT, ACSIP, Equity report, standards assurance, school safety, graduation rate and annual goals. A motion was made by Mr. McJoy and seconded by Mrs. Green to approve the 2014-15 ACSIP which was submitted October 1, 2014. The motion carried.

The board opened one sealed bid. A motion was made by Mrs. Green and seconded by Mr. McJoy to sell the school property on Mulberry to the New Saint John Ministries for $20,001. The motion carried.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:30 P.M.
