Regular Meeting
November 11, 2024

The meeting was called to order by the president. The following members were present: Rev. Green, Mr. Lane, Mr. Livingston, Mrs. Smith, Ms. Sykes, Mrs. Thompson and Mr. Williams.
The October 14, 2024 minutes were approved as presented.
The principals provided data reports to show if students were making progress based on the LEARNS Act requirements.
A motion was made by Mr. Livingston and seconded by Rev. Green to purchase two 2024 12-passanger Ford Transit vans from Riser Ford for $49,995.00 which is based on the State contract sale. The total cost is $99,990.00 which will be purchased out of Supplemental Transportation funds (2222). The motion carried.
The superintendent discussed the District Child Nutrition Program, Construction Report (Safe Room and Warehouse/Field House), ASBA State Conference (December 11-13, 2024), First Security Dinner at 6:30 P.M. (December 11, 2024) and upgrade security camera system to provide safety. Also board members were given Handbooks for Arkansas School Board Members which were provided by ASBA.
The superintendent recommended to the board to approve a one-time bonus for certified staff ($3000.00), Classified staff ($1500.00) and school bus drivers only ($600.00). The amount of the bonus will be prorated based on contracted days and hours. The bonus will be given in two payments (one per semester). Also, the superintendent recommended to approve a one-time bonus ($1000) to full-time long-term substitutes (ESS) hired to be paraprofessionals, custodians and cafeteria workers. The bonus will be paid in two payments (one per semester). If a full-time substitute is released, quit, change work hours without prior approval or do not come to work, the bonus will not be given. A motion was made by Rev. Green and seconded by Ms. Sykes to approve the superintendent’s recommendation as stated. The motion carried.
The president requested that the board go into executive session for the purpose of employment, appointment, promotion, discipline or resignation of personnel.
After the discussion, the public was allowed to return. A motion was made by Mr. Livingston and seconded by Mrs. Smith to hire Lawrence Frey (Part-time Art Teacher, High School) and Jennifer Walker (RN Nurse) for Lakeside High School, Middle School and Eudora Elementary School. The motion carried.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:15 P.M.
