Lakeside Board of Education

Regular Meeting

April 16, 2018

Staff Development Room

5:30 P.M.

The meeting was called to order by the president. The following members were present: Mr. Collins, Mrs. Green, Ms., Griffin, and Mr. Livingston. Mr. McJoy, Mr. Mosley and Mr. Williams were absent.

The March 12, 2018 minutes and financial report were approved as presented.

The Superintendent and board members will hand diplomas to the 2018 graduating class and Mrs. Green will announce the awards and scholarships.

The superintendent discussed the ADE Child Nutrition audit on bids and inventory which showed a high cost for a district of our size. The superintendent requested to solicit bids to build a warehouse with a walk-in cooler and freezer to store cafeteria commodities and other items. A motion was made by Mrs. Green and seconded by Ms. Griffin to allow the superintendent to get bids to build a warehouse. The motion carried.

The superintendent also discussed posted teaching positions, the Lakeside Band traveling to Shreveport, LA on April 28th to participate in a parade jamboree, A to F rating and NSBA conference.

The president requested that the board go into executive session for the purpose of employment, appointment, promotion, discipline, or resignation of personnel. After the discussion, the public was allowed to return.

A motion was made by Mr. Collins and seconded by Ms. Griffin to renew the contracts of all classified staff recommended (on the list) by Dr. Adams (Central office staff, bus drivers, maintenance, janitorial, cafeteria, as needed staff and Eudora Elementary classified staff, Ms. Armour (Lakeside High school classified list), Mr. Gray (Lakeside Middle School classified list) and Mrs. Stone (Lakeside Elementary School classified list). The motion carried.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:05 p.m.
