Regular Meeting

October 11, 2021

5:30 P.M.

The meeting was called to order by the president. The following members were present: Rev. Green, Ms. Griffin, Mr. Livingston, Rev. McJoy, Mr. Mosley, Mrs. Thompson and Mr. Williams.

The minutes and financial reports for September 13, 2021 were approved as presented.

The superintendent, principals, curriculum specialist, LEA Supervisor and Technology Coordinator gave an annual report to the public. The following topics were discussed: Title I Schoolwide Programs, Title II, Title IV, Title V, Indistar, District Support Plan, The Science of Reading, 1003 Grant, SOAR Grant, Cares ACT Funds (ESSER I and ESSER II), American Rescue Plan ACT, Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ARP ESSER III), School Performance Data Reports and Status, ACT, ACT Aspire Assessments data Reports, School Interventions, Parent Engagement activities, integrating technology into the classroom, Emergency Connectivity Fund,(ECF), broadband, GT Programs, ELL students, Homeless, ESSA, AQT, ACT 1240, School Choice, School Safety, STEM, Title IX Compliance, Standards Assurance, Students with Disabilities, 504, COVID-19 Dashboard, Vaccine for students, Wellness Committee requirements checklist – implementation and compliance, Child Nutrition Program, ADH and DESE guidelines, graduation rate, how federal and special needs funds were used; the District’s vision, mission and annual goals were discussed. Also, the board agreed to conduct its public hearing on November 8, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the proposed Facilities Master Plan for 2022.

The superintendent discussed Phase I of the School Board Zone Overview (Map) created by EFS Geotechnologies (Demographer), APSRC School Board Training, ASBA Regional Training (Oct. 14), NSBA State Conference (December 9 th , 10 th ) and NSBA Conference (April 2-4, 2022). Also, the board appointed Ms. Griffin as Delegate Assembly to represent the Lakeside Board of Education.
