The meeting was called to order by the president. The following members were present: Rev. Green, Mr. Lane, Mr. Livingston, Mrs. Smith, Ms. Sykes, Mrs. Thompson and Mr. Williams.

A motion was made by Mr. Livingston and seconded by Mr. Williams to approve the minutes, the monthly financial statement, Annual Financial Report (AFRB), legal balance, and the proposed budget for the 2024-2025 School Year. The motion carried.

A motion was made by Mr. Livingston and seconded by Mrs. Smith to allow Haley Bush (High School FFA Teacher) and two FFA Students to attend the 97 th National FFA Convention and EXPO in Indianapolis, Indiana from October 22 to 26th . The motion carried.

A motion was made by Mr. Livingston and seconded by Rev. Green to approve SAVVAS quote to provide high quality instructional materials (My Perspectives English Language) for grades 7 th -12 th for a total of $51,497.00. SAVVAS is the sole source for these materials which is on ADE approved list. The motion carried.

The principals provided data reports to show if students were making progress based on the LEARNS Act requirements.

The board reviewed bids to purchase a 15-ton HVAC unit for the warehouse/field house. Ed Supply Co. LLC bidded ($24,930.46 which replaces the two previous bids voted on by the board with a difference of $595.31). Carrier bidded $30,776.00 (excluding taxes and shipping). A motion was made by Mr. Livingston and seconded by Mr. Williams to accept Ed’s Supply’s quote as the lowest bidder. The motion carried.

The superintendent discussed the construction report (Safe Room and Warehouse/Field House), ASBA Meeting and Conference (October 7, 2024 - Region 14 meeting at Crossett High School, ABSA State Conference - December 11-13, 2024 in Little Rock at the State House Convention Center). Also, the Lakeside School District was recognized as a member in good standing of the Arkansas School Boards Association for 2024-2025.

The president requested that the board go into executive session for the purpose of employment, appointment, promotion, discipline and resignation of personnel. After the discussion, the public was allowed to return. A motion was made by Mr. Livingston and was seconded by Ms. Sykes to approve the hire of Rodney Gilmore (High School 9-12 Health/Physical Education Teacher and Girls Head Basketball Coach), Claire Quittmeyer (K-12 Librarian for Elementary and High School) and accept the resignation of Trina Davenport (K-12 Librarian Media). Also, pay Bobby Parker $1500 to assist with football. The motion carried.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:14 P.M.
