Regular Meeting
November 14, 2022

The meeting was called to order by the president.  The following members were present:  Rev. Green, Mr. Lane, Mr. Livingston, Mrs. Smith, Ms. Sykes, Mrs. Thompson, and Mr. Williams.

The October 11, 2022 minutes and financial reports were approved as presented.

The superintendent recommended to the board to approve the annual reoccurring bonus for certified ($3000.00), classified ($1500.00) and school bus drivers only ($750.00).  A motion was made by Mr. Lane and seconded by Ms. Sykes to accept the superintendent’s recommendation to give employees the above bonuses. The amount of the bonus will be prorated based on contracted days and hours.  The motion carried.

A motion was made by Mr. Livingston and seconded by Mrs. Thompson to approve the Memorandum of Understanding between the Lakeside School District and the Lake Village Police Department to hire two full time school resource officers (SRO) to support all campuses using ESA funds.  The motion carried.

A motion was made by Mr. Livingston and seconded by Ms. Sykes to accept SOPA bids to replace the Lakeside High School’s auditorium seating (274) Quattro classic chairs for $91,000 (TIPS TAPS #20080101) and back of stage curtains for $19,650.00.  The motion carried.

The superintendent and Ms. Stone presented an update on replacing the Lakeside Elementary, Pre-K and Eudora playground equipment.  A motion was made by Mr. Livingston and seconded by Mr. Williams to accept Davis Playgrounds bid to replace the Lakeside Elementary playground equipment for $156,115.25 using declining enrollment funds, Pre-K playground for $120,201.28 using ARP funds (Early Childhood) and Eudora playground for $79,999.11 using ARP funds (TIPS TAP #2107020).  The motion carried.

The superintendent discussed PCCUP Gear-up Smart Classroom Proposed Budget approved for high school, ASBA State Conference, Lakeside Basketball Schedule and the Southeast Coop.  Area Schools ESSA Report Card and letter grades.

The president requested that the board go into executive session for the purpose of employment, appointment, promotion, discipline or resignation of personnel.  After the discussion, the public was allowed to return.

A motion was made by Mr. Livingston and seconded by Mr. Williams to approve the contract of Terry Johnson (as needed certified substitute for math),  Allyson Dunbar’s contract (increased from 50% to 60% instructional day for high school math) and Lorraine Alliett (contract increased from 2.5 days per week to three days per week for Eudora Elementary Music).  The motion carried.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:30 P.M.
