MINUTES
The meeting was called to order by the president. The following members were present: Rev. Green, Mr. Lane, Mr. Livingston, Mrs. Smith, Ms. Sykes, Mrs. Thompson and Mr. Williams.
The June 8, 2026 minutes and financial reports were approved as presented.
A motion was made by Mrs. Smith and seconded by Mr. Williams to accept Hiland Dairy Foods Co., LLC for milk as the lowest bidder.
The principals shared copies of the approved student handbooks and updated the board on open house for parents and students.
The superintendent discussed the full and final sworn statement in proof of loss due to the ice storm on January 25, 2026. Also, letter from Sedgwick stating that the wind damage claim filed on April 29, 2026 falls below our policy deductible of $25,000.
The superintendent gave the board an update on merit pay, returning Education to the States Waiver Request, Arkansas Activities Association Practice the Plan (Prepare•Respond•Save Lives) based on ACT 352 of 2025 and Annual Reports with all State required submission dates for the entire year.
The board recognized retired board member, Richard Livingston with a plaque for 20 years of dedicated service to public education from 2006-2026 as a Lakeside Board Member who achieved Outstanding Master and Pinnacle Board Member Awards with a total of 376.25 professional development hours.
The president required that the board go into executive session for the purpose of employment, appointment, promotion, discipline or resignation of personnel. After the discussion, the public was allowed to return.
A motion was made by Ms. Sykes and seconded by Mr. Williams to hire Ray Brooks (As needed Band Advisor), Donna Clemmons (High School-History/Special Education Teacher) and Christy Flick (Middle School/High School English Teacher.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:04 P.M.
