Regular Meeting

April 12, 2021

Staff Development Room

5:30 P.M.

The meeting was called to order by the vice president. The following members were present: Rev. Green, Ms. Griffin, Rev. McJoy, Mrs. Thompson and Mr. Williams. Mr. Livingston and Mr. Mosley were absent.

The March 8, 2021 minutes and financial reports were approved as presented.

The Superintendent presented a proposal from Central Laundry Equipment to purchase a commercial washer and dryer for $18,208.19. A motion was made by Rev. Green and seconded by Rev. McJoy to approve Central Laundry Equipment proposed bid for $18,208.19. The motion carried.

A motion was made by Rev. McJoy and seconded by Rev. Green to approve the Proposed Salary Schedule submitted by the Personnel Policy Committee. The motion carried.

A motion was made by Rev. Green and seconded by Mr. Williams to accept Top Rail Fencing bid to replace 1000 feet of fencing around the football field for $19,900.24. The motion carried.

The superintendent discussed eligible uses of ESSER Funds, ASBA Joint Leadership Conference (May 4, 2021) and Lakeside Elementary School has been awarded a $500.00 Exxon Mobil Alliance Grant. Also, Ms. Linda Armour discussed graduation plans for commencement on the football field and the board agreed to allow Ms. Griffin to announce scholarships and the superintendent and board members will pass out the diplomas to the Class of 2021.

The Vice-President requested that the board go into executive session for the purpose of employment, appointment, promotion, discipline or resignation of personnel. After the discussion, the public was allowed to return. A motion was made by Ms. Griffin and seconded by Mr. Williams to renew the contracts of all classified staff recommended (on the list) by Dr. Adams (Central Office Staff, bus drivers, maintenance workers, janitorial, cafeteria and as-needed staff); Ms. Armour (Lakeside High School Classified list), Dr. Wright (Lakeside Middle School Classified list), Mrs. Stone (Lakeside Elementary School Classified list) and Mr. Sims (Eudora Elementary Classified list). Also, approve the contract to hire Tara Rowe (AAP) as a new 5th grade teacher, Marylin Miller, 4th grade teacher (MAT Program) and Tracy Lawson as the New K-5 PE Teacher and Head Boys Basketball Coach. The motion carried.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:50 P.M.
